Tiny House Collective Kansas City!!!! My People!!!

This week I found renewed energy to continue to explore into the "Tiny House" lifestyle.
Since my last blog entry about my tiny cabin, life and work took over my time and energy during the summer.  Now that fall is here, I've meet new people, learned new things, and now have more confidence to continue my goal to a more simple way of life.

One of the most exciting and valuable things I found to add to my Tiny House "bag", is this great LOCAL community whom I found on Facebook called "Tiny House Collective Kansas City"!

They are the exact people I need to be in contact with to ask questions and share what knowledge I've learned on my own.  I feel great being able to show off what I've done and eager to learn from others.  When we have common interests, it doesn't take long to become comfortable with strangers and make new friends.

My next obstacle in establishing a tiny house now it so iron out city ordinances and make sure the foundation I set my house in/on will be a legal and stable one.

I currently have a vacant city lot and my goal to establish a mobile home where an individual can be lived in full time and still be able to take with us on our road trips.  I currently have a partner in the project who will commit to this project!  I just need to get the city's ok to get the ball rolling.

I have also started a list of websites and companies who specialized in building, designing, and accessorizing tiny homes and lifestyle, to better prepare ourselves when it comes time to throwing down the first hammer in the project...I'll share with you this info so it may help you jump start on finding the right builder for your home to better fit your budget and needs...(keep in mind, there are some of my personal notes, but the websites are what you should be focusing on)

This will my goal, is to create something similar to this........................

Next step is to get together with the Tiny House Collective Kansas City to help ensure house codes in my city will accept tiny dwellings as this.

Windows are IN!

The cabin needed more light and air ventilation in the loft areas.  I went to Habitat Restore in Kansas City and was able to find a brand new large window for the sitting area for $80.00!  I had the window installed sideways to work better with the space I had, so it was longer rather than tall.

The small windows that went in both loft areas were left to me by a friend who use to sell windows.. The windows were the mini-salesman version of the products he sold when he went door-to-door.

I had a friend help me install the windows for $50.00

So total window project was $130.00
